Why use copper ?
Copper has always been used by engravers to etch plates. These engraved plates are used to transfer images onto paper. Copper is prized for its quality, enabling us to obtain very precise details during printing, as well as for its longevity and resistance to pressure from the press. It is also easier to engrave, as it is softer than the other metals
It has better thermal conductivity, which enables heat to be transferred evenly for techniques requiring plate heating. The copper we offer is “mirror polished” to avoid hand polishing and guarantee easy de-inking.
